Mindfulness has its roots in Eastern Philosophy and Religion. However, it is also a module in Dr. Marsha Linehan’s Dialectical and Behavioral Skills Training (DBT) originally created to treat people with Borderline Personality Disorder.
It has since been used in many ways by many Mental Health professionals to help people with other Mental Health issues, or just issues in life. It really can help anyone that is stressed or has anxiety or depression issues. It is applicable to living your life in the moment and not being caught up with worry thoughts which most people have, at least situationally, and from time to time in today’s hectic world.
